Privacy Policy — Ascent Performance Lab

Ascent HI LLC ("Ascent HI," "we," "us") provides the Ascent Performance Lab Chrome extension (published as "Ascent HI"; the "Extension") and this website. The Extension has a single purpose: it lets sales professionals research a prospect from public web sources and then practice the sales call against a live AI version of that prospect, with a scored coaching report after each call. This policy explains what data the Extension handles, how we use it, and who we share it with.

Information We Collect

• Account & authentication. When you create an account or sign in, your name, email, and password are processed by Amazon Cognito. We store only the resulting session tokens locally in your browser (chrome.storage.local) — we never store your password.
• Prospect research inputs. The details you enter about a prospect — name, company, title, email, notes, and the one-line description of what you sell. If the browser tab you have active is a LinkedIn profile, the Extension reads only that tab's web address to pre-fill the prospect's name and link the profile. It never reads, injects into, or collects the content of any web page.
• Research briefs. When you request research, our servers assemble a brief about the prospect from public web sources using AI. The brief is returned to you for review and stored on your device only (chrome.storage.local). Our servers do not retain research results, with one exception: the edited brief you choose to practice with is attached to that practice session in your account.
• Contact discovery. As part of research, we may look up a publicly listed business email or phone number for the prospect and check the email's deliverability through Clearout. Results are labeled with their source, marked verified or unverified, and stored on your device only.
• Practice call audio. During a live practice call, your microphone audio is streamed in real time to OpenAI to run the voice conversation. We do not record or store the audio. The text transcript of the call and the resulting coaching report (score, strengths, improvements, tips) are stored in your account so you can review them in History.
• Billing. Subscriptions and top-ups are processed by Stripe. Card details go directly to Stripe — we never receive or store them. We keep your subscription status and session-credit balance.
• What we do NOT collect. No browsing history, no page content, no keystrokes, no analytics or advertising trackers inside the Extension. The optional floating launcher button only draws itself on the page — it reads nothing from it, and you can turn it off in Settings.

How We Use Information

• To authenticate you and operate your account, credits, and subscription.
• To generate the research brief and practice persona you request.
• To run the live practice conversation and produce your coaching report.
• To meter usage (briefs and sessions), prevent abuse, and enforce trial limits.
• To respond to support requests.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use your data to train general-purpose AI models.

Service Providers (Processors)

• Amazon Web Services — hosting, database, and authentication (Amazon Cognito). All data in transit is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS).
• Anthropic — generates research briefs from public web searches. Receives the prospect details you submit for research.
• OpenAI — runs the live voice conversation. Receives call audio in real time and the practice persona's context.
• Clearout — checks deliverability of, or finds, a publicly listed business email. Receives the prospect's name, company, and/or email address.
• Stripe — payment processing. Receives your email and payment details.

Each provider processes data only to deliver the specific feature you requested. Beyond these providers, we do not share your data with third parties except to comply with applicable law or legal process, and then only to the minimum extent required.

Data About Your Prospects

Research briefs describe third parties, assembled exclusively from publicly available web sources. They are stored on your device, fully editable, and deletable at any time from the History tab (or by uninstalling the Extension). You are responsible for using researched contact information lawfully — including compliance with applicable outreach, anti-spam, and data-protection laws in your jurisdiction.

Storage & Retention

• On your device: prospect briefs, contact details, your saved background, and preferences. Uninstalling the Extension or clearing browser data erases them permanently; the Extension offers a manual backup export.
• In your account: your profile, subscription status, credit balance, practice-session transcripts, and coaching reports — retained while your account is active. You can delete individual conversations from the History tab at any time.

Your Rights & Deletion

You may request access to your data, or deletion of your conversations, coaching reports, or entire account, at any time by emailing privacy@ascenthi.com from your account email. Account deletion removes your profile, transcripts, and reports from our systems; data stored only on your device is under your control and is erased when you uninstall the Extension.

Security

All data is transmitted using modern encryption (HTTPS/TLS). Authentication is handled by Amazon Cognito, and account data lives in access-controlled AWS infrastructure. We do not publicly disclose your authentication or personal information.

Limited Use

The use of information received through the Ascent Performance Lab Extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Children's Privacy

The Extension is intended for business use by professionals and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date above and, where appropriate, through in-product or email notice.
